Megan Rapinoe is not only a well-dressed player who helped Team USA win the 2019 World Cup, but she is also a former Loewe ad campaign model, a Trump naysayer and a major activist who helped the US women’s soccer team have equal pay at this World Cup as the only participating country.
“I want to thank heroes like Megan Rapinoe who brought that case against U.S. Soccer,” said Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) in December 2022 after the bill was passed. The Equal Pay for Team USA Act will require all athletes representing the United States in the global competition to receive equal pay and benefits in their sport, regardless of gender.
