It’s a sunny Sunday afternoon and Sepp is in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg, joined by a crew that has come together to play some football. They’re dressed in the new edition of #YOOXSOCCERCOUTURE in partnership with EA7 Emporio Armani, looking like they’ve been transplanted from Milan or any other fashion capital. Inhabitants of this leafy suburb tend to make an effort when it comes to fitness gear, but none of them look quite this good. #YOOXSOCCERCOUTURE was presented for the first time in 2014, inviting designer names such as MSGM and AMI to interpret their nationalities on a fan sweatshirt. It’s now a recurrent initiative for every big tournament. Mr. Armani is a football fanatic, dressing the Italian team in his suiting and tapping stars like Kaka, Andriy Shevchenko, and Cristiano Ronaldo for campaigns. For this effort, Armani took the graphic lines of the pitch at Rome’s Olimpico Cauldron — venue of this year’s championship opening game — and used them as inspiration for his shirt in green and white.
